Phoenix Starr College is one of the U.K's leading Performing arts Colleges. Our courses are at the forefront of performing arts training in the UK, offering high contact hours, industry professional teachers . Highly intensive training to students from all over the world.
We are currently searching for dance teachers to join our team from September, working with students age 16-19 years. We look for committed, passionate and knowledgeable tutors that enjoy working with young people and have experience of enabling their individual progression. The majority of these classes are delivered to mixed ability groups of between 10 and 20 students.
Based in Luton, Bedfordshire, our full-time college trains young performers and offers UAL, IDTA and UKA qualifications, commonly delivered by tutors with teaching qualifications in addition to their experience. Our Full-Time College runs daily throughout the week during term time.

Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 4/5 per week

Salary: £25.00-£30.00 per hour

Diploma of Higher Education (preferred)

Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for all large stage performances ( show cases, Dance conventions, competitions etc)
- Weekly Commercial and Hiphop classes
- Organising creative workshops
- Extensive knowledge and passion for the commercial industry with a broad dance expertise
· Highly motivated with dedication to the end goal of delivering exceptional teaching
- Able to choreograph multiple pieces
- Versatile Dancer and Choreographer
· Strong organisational skills
· Strategic thinker, able to plan and implement decisions
· Enthusiastic, approachable and flexible
· Ability to identify and progress work priorities
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work collaboratively
· Ability to motivate staff members and students

Person Specification - Experience
~ Experience in teaching and assessing in further education/ higher education
~ Working in a performing arts environment
~ Experience in managing educational correspondence relating to quality assurance
~ Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
~ Experience of working under own initiative and as part of a team to identify and resolve problems
~ Strong attention to detail
~ Excellent organisational capabilities
~ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal appropriately with a wide variety of people in a confident and friendly manner
~ Excellent time management
~ Tactful, diplomatic and assertive in dealing with challenging situations
~ Excellent interpersonal skills
~ A high level of written and spoken English
Qualifications, Experience and Training Required
- At least a Diploma level qualification in associated subject (Desirable)
- A detailed knowledge and understanding of practices within the Commercial field specifically in relation to Pop culture
- Several years of professional experience
- Safeguarding, GDPR and Prevent (Desirable)
